Which CorelDRAW Versions and Editions Work With CamDRAW
CamDRAW installs into CorelDRAW, so the first question before buying anything is whether your CorelDRAW is one it supports. For most people the answer is yes, including editions that are often assumed to be too limited.
How to check what you have
In CorelDRAW, open the Help menu and choose About. The window names the exact product, the version and whether you are running 32 or 64-bit.
Both the edition and the version matter. CorelDRAW Standard 2021 and CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 2021 are different products, and it is the edition name that decides which list below applies.
Supported editions
CorelDRAW Graphics Suite from X7 onwards, including X8 and the yearly releases up to the current one.
CorelDRAW Technical Suite from X7 onwards.
CorelDRAW Standard in the releases listed on the specifications page.
CorelDRAW Essentials, Home & Student and the Special Editions that come bundled with hardware, again for the releases listed.
Both 32 and 64-bit installations are supported.

Why the reduced editions matter
This is the point most people get wrong.
Machine suppliers often bundle a reduced CorelDRAW edition with a router, engraver or laser. Owners of those bundles frequently assume they need to buy the full Graphics Suite before they can do anything serious, because reduced editions leave out features the full suite has, including some file filters.
For CamDRAW that is usually unnecessary. The plugin works with Standard, Essentials, Home & Student and the Special Editions, so a bundled CorelDRAW is generally enough to produce machine programs.
Check your edition against the specifications page before spending money on an upgrade you may not need.
Newer CorelDRAW releases
CorelDRAW publishes a new version most years. CamDRAW is built so that future releases are picked up automatically, rather than requiring a rebuilt plugin for each one. In practice that means a CorelDRAW upgrade does not usually leave you waiting.
What does need doing after a CorelDRAW upgrade is installing the plugin into the new version. The installer writes into one CorelDRAW product at a time, so a new CorelDRAW is a new installation target. Run the setup again and select the new version.
Several CorelDRAW versions on one machine
This is common, particularly where an older bundled version sits alongside a newer one bought later.
CamDRAW can be installed into as many of them as you like. Run the setup once per version and select a different product each time. Each installation is independent.
The pitfall is installing into one version and then working in another. If the Tools menu shows no CamDRAW entry, check Help and then About in the CorelDRAW you actually have open, and compare it with the product you chose during installation.
System requirements
Beyond CorelDRAW itself: Windows 11, 10, 8.1 or 7 with current updates, Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6 or higher, and at least 4 GB of RAM. An internet connection is needed once, for activation.
